Is A Young Adult Transition Program Right For Your Needs?
-
What It Is
A Young Adult Transition Program bridges the gap between structured treatment (or a difficult chapter at home) and true independence. These programs help young adults build the practical life skills, emotional regulation, and confidence they need to succeed on their own — whether that means living semi-independently, holding down a job, or succeeding in college.
-
Who It's For
This is for young adults, generally 18 to 28, who've completed wildernes or residential treatment and aren't quite ready to jump straight back into full independence — or for those who've struggled to launch after high school due to mental health challenges, substance use, learning differences, or simply a lack of the life skills and motivation that independence requires
-
What To Expect
I assess where your young adult is right now and what kind of support will actually help — the right balance of structure and freedom. That might mean a semi-independent living program, life-skills coaching, vocational or academic support, or continued therapeutic care. I coordinate with any previous treatment providers so care stays consistent, and I keep families involved throughout.

Why It's Effective
The jump from structured treatment straight to full independence is where many young people struggle — it's often too much, too fast. A transition program bridges that gap by building the practical skills that traditional education and treatment often miss, with real-world accountability while still providing support. That reduces the risk of backsliding into old patterns during a genuinely vulnerable stretch.
